If you’re looking for a particular album in your collection, your best bet is usually to use the search box. Typing a few letters in the search box will give you instant suggestions you can click – and quite often gets you to your album fastest, but you can also hit enter on your keyboard to perform a full search on your collection.
Quick Search on your own collection
The quickest way to find the album you’re looking for is to use Quick Search top right.
You can just type a few letters and select the album you’re looking for. We’re calling this “Search-as-you-type” and you may recognise it from your Add Albums screen.
Extensive search on your own collection
If you wish to perform a deeper search on more fields you can do an extensive search by hitting enter after typing (or click “View all results”). This option searches more fields in your collection and then shows you all found matches.
The extensive search searches the following fields:
For “Albums and Tracks”:
- Album Title
- Album Artist
- Track Title
- Track Artist
- Composer
- Barcode
- Year
- Tags
- Notes
For “Albums only”:
- Album Title
- Album Artist
- Composer
- Barcode
- Year
- Tags
- Notes
For “Tracks only”:
- Track Title
- Track Artist
Searching folders
The folder panel panel is a powerful way to browse and filter your collection. Just group by Artist, or Label, etc… click a folder and the list will give you all albums for the selected Artist or Label.
To quickly find a specific folder use the search box right above the folder panel, that lets you instantly search/filter the folder panel as you type! Just typing a few letters is often enough to bring the folder you are looking for into view.
